decoding <lela/> code / memories on technologies

www.donestech.net

Activist Research on women and technologies iniciated by 3 womyn which are social researchers and very keen on technologies. Instead of repeating the question of why womyn do not participate or use technologies as much as men, we would like to know why and how womyn that already use and integrate tecnologies in their lifes actually do it.

If there are womyn that use technologies there must exist some kind of "code" that makes it possible. So by trying to know our ways to acces and use technologies we will try to decipher this code, named LELA.

We are gathering since april a large pannel of indeepth interviews with women in catalonia and spain that are doing very eclectic "things" with techonologies (programing, video, DJs, ICTS but also productive, reproductive and bionanotechnologies). Those interviews are one of the base of our research and we hope to be able to enlarge it towards the experiences, narratives and subjectivities presents during the ETC.

So if you feel like talking about your first memories on technologies, about how you did learn, about wishes and desires, we invite you to come around and decypher the lela's code with us. Questions will be held around: "the day i had an affair with technology", "the day i became an activist with technology", "the day i precarise with technology", "the day i got rid off technology", "the day i...".

Bring pictures, images, audios, videos, papers, toys, your best technological friend... anything to share.
